Gocal Bitras, the Leader of the Liberal Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, became Premier of the House of Representatives in a vote 291–239 on 1 January 2450.
The primary political debate around this election was the contents of the Constitution of the High Kingdoms of Alaxia, which was still being written, and how much power the federal government should have.

The Golden Coalition was formed from liberal parties from across the country. It included the Liberal Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, the Liberal Party of Peryzium, the Liberal Party of Empherias, and Janvariye Jin in Kiavalar. In this election, they ran on a platform of a minimal federal oversight with sovereignty remaining at the nation-level. Particularly, they wanted finances to be as devolved as possible. They are the party that President Clemenceau Richelieu was apart of, and were helped by her popularity.

The Crimson Coalition was formed from socialist and social democratic parties from across the country. It included the Red Bloq of Ahitereira and Koresa, the Red Bloq of Peryzium, the People's Socialist Party of Empherias, and Seruiye Jin in Kiavalar. In this election, they ran on a platform of a large federal oversight consisting to ensure that all nations met certain targets decided by the legislature (on things like child poverty, healthcare spending, etc). They wanted to keep sovereignty at the nation-level, but wanted key financial decisions to be taken at the top— nations could decide where the budget was going, but not how much.

The Conservative Group was formed from conservative parties from across the country. It included the King's Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, the Conservative Party of Empherias, and Rael Carinye in Kiavalar and in Peryzium. In this election, they ran on a platform of a very small federal government with only advisory power, more akin to an alliance, where each nation would control their own defence and foreign policy to an extent.

The Feminist Group was formed from feminist and felirinist parties from across the country. It included the Pink Daphne Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, the Pink Daphne Party of Empherias, and Feriliye Jin in Kiavalar and in Peryzium. In this election, they ran on a platform of placing protections within the constitution for minority communities and especially women's rights.

Jahairiye Carpiviya Raeliyineri Kaivaner, also known as JCPK was a coalition of various populist and right wing Kiavalari parties that ran on a sole platform federally. It did not join a group with other countries, but maintained considerable influence. In this election, they ran on a platform of ensuring larger nations, such as Kiavalar, didn't have to subsidise cheaper living in smaller nations, such as Peryzium or Koresa.

"The Green Group was formed from environmental and social democratic parties from across the country. It included the Ahitereiran Greens the Greens of Koresa, the Green Social and Labour Party of Empherias, and Durbanar Jin in Kiavalar and in Peryzium. In this election, they ran on a platform of placing protections for the environment within the constitution, and preventing the federal government from overriding local opinion on where things should be built.

The Nationalist Group was formed from nationalist and separatist parties from across the country. It included the Nationalist Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, the Nationalist Party of Empherias, and both Valkarist Jin, and Askavor Jin in Kiavalar and in Peryzium. In this election, they ran on a mixture of platforms. Some wanted complete separatism, advocating for either full independence or preventing the union entirely. Some were okay with the union, but wanted protections in the constitution to allow for legal independence referendums in future, and a significant amount of power for each devolved nation, similar to the Conservative platform.

The Alliance Group was formed from centrist and libertarian parties from across the country. It included the Alliance Party of Ahitereira (formerly the Centre Party), the Centre Party of Koresa, the Alliance Party of Empherias (formerly both the Democratic Centre Party (DCP) and New Centrist Union (NCU)), and Cyn Serilin in Kiavalar and in Peryzium. Having only formed the previous year, their platform was fragmented and based on pragmaticism. Campaigns were ran on a local level, and varied nation to nation, and holding on to their voter base from individual nation's own devolved elections. Their offical position on the union was positive and that it would be benefitial to all peoples within.

The Bokanist Group was formed from bokanist parties and religious organisations from across the country. It included the Bokanist Values Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, the Bokanist Values Party of Empherias, the Bokanist Values Party of Kiavalar, and the more extremist and fundamentalist, True Bokanist Party. These parties were very aligned with traditional conservative values, and thus their platform ran on a similar platform of a small federal government, with the added protections for religious groups. Particularly, with Bokanism only small in places like Kiavalar, they wanted guarantees that expansion and missions there would be peaceful. This group primarily represented the Luceroanist sect dominant in Ahitereira, and not the Selbyist sect dominant in Empherias.

There were a significant number of other parties and candidates. Some independents were permitted to run, although it depended on the nation's own guidelines— membership of a registered political party was preferred. One independent candidate in Kiavalar won election.
Other parties included the Orderist Coalition which was only on the ballot in overseas votes in Qatesh, the Anchor parties in Empherias, Ahitereira and Koresa which were a far left group who won just over 170,000 votes, the National Party of Koresa, a secessionist party for purely Koresa, which ran barely any candidates and ran outside of the Nationalist group due to its conflicts with the Nationalist Party of Ahitereira and Koresa, who denied a Koresan state. Several other minor parties in Kiavalar that did not align itself with a group at the federal elections also ran to minimal success, such as Ilyn Tygallen, an elven rights group; Anorin Jin, a monarchist party, and Celestial Jin, a party for the Church of Celestine.
The electoral system uses winner takes all first-past-the-post (FPTP) across 530 constituencies. Each nation has 103 constituencies regardless of population (see Kiavalar, who has 12x the population but the same amount of seats as Peryzium), with a further 15 constituencies representing federal territories: 6 for the capital, Esperiy, 2 for the Aether islands, 2 for the Etherevar island, and 5 for overseas voters divided by continent.
Following elections in November, the House of Representatives meet in early January to elect a Premier as the head of government, a motion which requires a simple majority (266 seats) to pass. The Premier will then choose a cabinet, which does not require parliamentary confirmation. The Speaker, who controls the timetables, is chosen by an independent judicial group made up of elite lawyers and court justices to be politically neutral and not elected, he can be impeached by two thirds of the chamber (354 seats), and the President, agreeing to it. The Premier will be subject to the confidence of the House of Representatives, which can be tested by a motion of no confidence. There is no limit to the frequency of motions, but the Speaker could deem such motions in quick succession as unparliamentary procedure and prevent the motion from being tabled.
The House of Representatives will then appoint committee chairs and members. These consist of primarily backbench representatives to debate and scrutinise pieces of legislation. The most important committee is the Standards Committee which handles conduct of representatives, the impeachment of the president and members, procedure of other committees, and the setting of standards.
The number of committees headed by each party is determined by parliamentary makeup. Negotiations between parties and their whips then takes place to assign each committee head to a party, and confirmed by the Speaker, who can also settle disagreements. A chair for each committee is elected at the start of the session via secret ballot, where candidates are nominated with a requirement of at least 10% of representatives from that party endorsing them. Once a chair is elected, the parties are assigned the number of total committee members out of 170 total based on parliamentary makeup (17 committees, 10 members each).
The allocation of these members is up to negotiation between different parties, the Premier, the Speaker, committee chairs, and other clerks. This allocation method allowed all parties with more than 2 seats to gain at least one committee spot; for example, Askavor Jin with two seats was given a sole committee member on the Home Affairs Select Committee, chaired by the Liberal Party of Ahitereira and Koresa. They aimed for major parties to be represented on all committees, with smaller parties using their members on committees they care most about. The main opposition is usually given the Standards Committee to chair to hold the government to account, while the governing party is usually given both the Defence and Foreign Affairs Committees since both the Defence Secretary and Foreign Secretary are appointed by the President, not the Premier.
